Welcome. I'm a writer and artist whose life has not unfolded in a straight line.

Interested in words? Me too.

As sometimes happens late in life, I've reconnected with my first love: in my case, poetry. A recent move shook loose some pebbles and started a sweet avalanche.

During Covid, my first novel, Goose Pond, began as an empathy exercise. The world is a pond; the characters are all birds.

But to clear the queue for anything else, I first had to write Riding the Cyclone: Growing Up Feral In the Sixties, because when you grow up the way I did, you either tell the story or die.

And before all that, I wrote heaps of serious nonfiction on technical subjects… and a world music blog, which was pure fun.

Or maybe you prefer pictures? Here are my digital collages, plus some photos of things I find beautiful.

Enjoy!
